Welcome!

I am passionate about understanding the needs and desires of my clients regarding how a house can support their lifestyle. Whether you are moving into or out of the Seattle area, downsizing, moving up, or dreaming of your perfect first home, I will do everything I can to see that your transaction goes as smoothly as possible. I have been a licensed real estate broker since 2000 (yes, 21 years now!) and I am committed to the highest standards of ethics and customer service. I am now a twelve year winner of Seattle magazine’s “Five Star Award” (including 2021!) – an award based entirely on customer satisfaction. My goal is always to exceed the expectations of my clients.

In June 2013, I earned my MBA in Sustainable Systems as well as a Certificate in the Sustainable Built Environment at Bainbridge Graduate Institute, now Presidio Graduate School.  The program allowed me to take a deep dive into my interests in the relationship between the natural world and the built environment. My heart and head had an opportunity to come together as I learned about the potential for housing to support health, happiness, and the environment. I consider these studies to be a positive influence on my work with clients. That degree helped me to launch “Close to Home”, where I worked on a range of affordable housing solutions for those in need.

Presenting about the power of tiny homes at the 2019 Rise Up Conference in Spokane, WA.

Alongside my career as a real estate broker, I worked as a mortgage loan originator (mortgage consultant) for ten years. That experience gives me a unique perspective on your real estate transaction. I thoroughly understand the loan process, the timeline required from loan application to funding, and understand the financing implications to the real estate purchase.

I am a proud graduate of Grinnell College, in Iowa, where I received a degree in biology in 1994. I was a recipient of a  Watson Fellowship, for which I traveled around the world during the 1994-95 academic year studying the relationship between eco-tourism and marine mammal conservation. In short, I love whales… and I love referrals from within my Grinnell community and outside of it! I was born in Boston and raised in Topeka, Kansas, riding horses to my heart’s content, and have made my home in the beautiful Seattle area since 1995.

The process of buying or selling a home can be an overwhelming one without the right guidance. I receive a great deal of personal satisfaction through helping my clients identify and purchase their new homes. I enjoy my work as an advocate and I want to be your real estate resource!  I hope this site will be useful and I look forward to hearing from you.

Appreciatively,

Rachel
